Serious house envy shooting this one! Here are the photos I took of Suzy (of A Friend of Mine Design Studio fame) and Shane's (Silent Partner) house as featured on Design Sponge this week. It was a fun shoot and they even made me lunch. Love these guys!

SWG Studio Interior

I created these photographs with Paul Doolan from Dots Per Inch (who found me through The Brownbill Effect Directory) and Santoso Budiman and Gregory Royce from SWG Studio who did the interior furnishings. It was so lovely working with such a fabulous team and such fantastic stylists with a great eye for colour and detail. (They even bought us a home made lunch to the set!). All in all it was a great day in the countryside and a beautiful location to be working in.

This shoot will be in my all time favourites for a long time to come.

K.W. Doggett Fine Paper Shoot

Earlier in the year I had the pleasure of working with the lovely folk at K.W. Doggett fine Paper and the amazing Suzy Tuxen from A Friend of Mine design studio (AFOM). The brief was to photograph paper cutout artworks which were meticulously created and laid out by Suzy using the wide range of paper stocks from K.W. Doggett and lit to show the various paper finishes, colours and textures. Whilst I am usually doing this on building projects it was fun to translate my love of colour, texture and lines to the studio environment. I used various light sources to show the works in a way that bought out the layering, texture, vibrance and in some cases sparkle of the various papers whilst keeping it realistic to what they look like when viewed in natural light.

Cheltenham Train Station

Here are some snaps from a project I shot for The City of Kingston who commissioned artists Andrew Bourke and James Beattie to create an artwork on the side of an apartment complex at the Cheltenham Train Station. The City of Kingston has been working with developers on new projects to beautify the local area and what better place for this than a walkway beside the train tracks. Not typically thought of as an inspiring space it was transformed in a partnership between The City of Kingston, the developers of the apartment project and some local artists. The response from the local community has been overwhelmingly positive. The piece includes references to the local history and the environment of the area. I shot the project using locals passing by as subjects and it was great to hear all the positive feedback on what they thought of the project.
